Interlocking is an indispensable safety system in railway signaling. The ILM681 main processing unit architecture is based on 2 out of 3 majority voting. Field object controllers are solid state modules, connected to the main processing unit. The system is flexible to be adapted to small scale up to very large scale stations. Field object controllers could be configured individually or in groups, according to the specific requirements based on Central or DCS architectures.
Thanks to high system modularity there is no actual limitation on the number of objects to be controlled by each interlocking system.

One of the key features of Electronic Interlocking ILM681 is its fast setup. System powerful configuration software tools make it possible to achieve this goal. Another auxiliary software is Visual Play Back with adjustable speed. This is a very helpful tool for training purposes or event analysis.

Structure and Operational Features

Main Processing unit

Electronic Interlocking ILM681 main processing unit is based on 2 out of 3 majority voting principle. All the modules are slide-in cards in 19″ rack mount housings.

Terminal unit

Field objects are connected to control system by Terminal unit. Protections have been considered as necessary at the terminals.

Diagnosis unit

This unit records all the events and messages for any specified period of time. The supervisory and maintenance of the system is facilitated by searching the recorded data in the concerned time span. This is a redundant unit consisting of two processing modules. The modules are slide-in cards in 19” rack mount housing.

Field Object Control units

These units are normally close to the main processing unit in the same control room. To avoid of using high amount of cables in large scale stations as well as in the areas with distributed architectures mainly in Urban applications, the field object control units are close to the group of objects and connected to the main processing unit by means of fiber optic cables.
All the objects such as points, signals, track circuits, axle counters, Block interfaces are connected to these units. Modular design makes any expansion and modification possible after installation, at any time.
